How it works

One placement, two recruiters, six stages.

Nothing here asks you to change how you recruit. It changes what gets written down while you do it.

  1. Stage 1Driven by: Candidate recruiter

    The candidate signs first

You add a candidate and send them a Right to Represent link. The signing page walks them through five plain-language steps: who you are, which client and role you may present them for, when the grant expires, how they revoke it, and the reveal log they will be able to read afterwards.

    Words used here:

    • A timestamped, scoped signature tied to a named client and role
    • An expiry date, so stale consent cannot be reused
    • A candidate portal link where they can see and revoke every grant
  2. Stage 2Driven by: Either side

You share the role, not the names

The candidate recruiter posts a blind listing; the client recruiter posts a job order. Both show the useful parts — title, specialty, market, salary range, fee percentage, guarantee period — and neither shows the candidate's name or the client's name. PlaceRail scores matches 0–100 so you spend your time on the ones that fit.

    Words used here:

    • Listings can't exist without the candidate's current permission
    • Job orders with the fee and guarantee terms stated up front
    • Match scoring and saved searches instead of inbox archaeology
  3. Stage 3Driven by: Both recruiters

You negotiate in a masked deal room

Interest opens a deal room. Chat is masked: you are Recruiter A and Recruiter B until paper is executed. You propose the split percentage, guarantee period, fall-off treatment and clawback rules, and the other side counters until you agree.

    Words used here:

    • A split agreement drafted from the terms you actually agreed
    • Non-circumvention, liquidated damages and arbitration clauses locked in
    • Every message and offer saved to a record that can't be edited later
  4. Stage 4Driven by: Both recruiters

Both sign, then identities reveal together

Signing is dual. Nothing reveals when only one side has signed. The moment the second signature lands, the candidate's name and the client's name appear to both parties in the same instant, and the reveal is written to the candidate's log.

    Words used here:

    • An executed agreement neither side can quietly edit
    • Simultaneous reveal — no first-mover advantage
    • A reveal entry the candidate can see in their portal
  5. Stage 5Driven by: Both recruiters

    The fee goes into escrow

When the client pays, the fee is held rather than handed to whoever invoiced. The escrow timeline shows the hold conditions, the inspection window, the guarantee countdown and the exact date each side is expected to be paid. An open dispute freezes advancement and pauses the clock — visibly, for both parties.

    Words used here:

    • A payout schedule with expected pay dates and net amounts
    • Split remittance statements and downloadable invoices for both sides
    • Every change to the money is recorded as it happens
  6. Stage 6Driven by: Either side, then an arbitrator

If something goes wrong, there is a process

Fall-offs, clawbacks and disagreements open a dispute with evidence upload. You choose what the other side can see and when. Response deadlines run on a clock. If you cannot agree, the case routes to a neutral arbitrator whose decision is locked and recorded.

    Words used here:

    • Per-file evidence visibility: private, shared, or released on resolution
    • Deadline-driven arbitration instead of an indefinite freeze
    • Non-circumvention detection when a revealed candidate turns up off-deal

After the placement

The record outlives the deal.

Everything above is recorded as you go, so the paperwork writes itself.

Export the whole record

One click produces a signed PDF of the deal, the full history as a spreadsheet, and a checksum file — all in one ZIP you can hand to a lawyer or regulator.

Read the export format

Let anyone verify it

Anyone can upload the files on our check page and confirm nothing was changed. No PlaceRail account needed.

You do not need a network to start. Put an existing split on the rail and see the difference the paper makes.
