Nothing. The Basic tier is free with unlimited candidates, RTRs, job orders and deal rooms. Platform fees apply only when a split placement actually completes.

Can I use it with a partner who isn't on PlaceRail yet?

Yes — invite them from the deal flow. They create a free account and sign inside the same room. The paperwork only counts once both of you are on the rail.

What exactly does the candidate sign?

A scoped Right to Represent: your name, the specific client, the specific role, and an expiry date. It is not a blanket permission and it can be revoked.

What happens if two recruiters have the same candidate?

The first signed, unexpired, unrevoked RTR for that client and role wins. PlaceRail flags the conflict instead of letting both sides discover it at offer stage.

Can the candidate see what happened to their information?

Yes. Their portal lists every grant they gave and every time their details were revealed, with timestamps.

Does a signed RTR here hold up if there's a fee dispute?

It is a timestamped, scoped signature with the signer name, scope, expiry and a signature hash, plus an append-only log of everything that followed — exactly the evidence a fee-fight usually lacks.

4% of your share of the placement fee on the free Basic tier, 2.5% on Verified ($99/recruiter/month) and 1.5% on Firm ($899/agency/month). Nothing is charged until the fee is released from escrow.

Only when the split agreement is fully executed by both parties. Reveal is simultaneous — there is no window where one side knows more than the other.

A licensed escrow provider, through the guarantee period. PlaceRail never takes custody of placement funds; it records the conditions and shows both parties the same clock.

Every agreement carries a non-circumvention window you both set. PlaceRail scans for the same candidate appearing at the same client outside your deal and flags it to both recruiters with the evidence attached.

A one-click bundle: a signed PDF of the deal and dispute trail, the append-only event log as CSV, and a manifest with digests and export timestamps.

How would anyone know the log was not edited?

Each entry hashes the previous one. The public verifier recomputes the chain from your CSV and checks it against the signed digest, with no account required.

Yes. Configure signed webhook endpoints and each bundle is delivered automatically with retries, idempotency keys and a per-attempt delivery timeline.

Who inside my firm can see a deal?

Only the two deal parties, plus arbitrators you escalate to — their access is itself logged. Firm managers see their desks' pipelines, and masked profiles never expose counterparty identity before reveal.
